On March 17, Comal ISD officials gathered within Meyer Ranch to break ground on the tentatively-named Elementary School No. 22, a brand-new campus that will serve our community’s youngest learners starting as early as the 2027–28 school year.
Built for Growth, Designed for Students
The new school is part of Proposition A, a $560.56 million bond that Comal ISD voters approved in May 2023 with broad community support. The 110,000-square-foot facility is designed to serve approximately 800 students and will help relieve enrollment pressure on nearby Bill Brown Elementary as the region continues to grow.
Comal ISD Chief Operations Officer Mark Stahl put it simply at the groundbreaking: the goal is providing top-notch educational facilities that give students the space they need to learn and thrive. The CISD board unanimously approved roughly $58.43 million for construction back in January as the final step in a three-phase authorization process, signaling full confidence in the project moving forward.
